What Is A Domain Push?

While a domain name transfer involves moving a domain name from one registrar to another (for example, from GoDaddy to NameBright), pushing a domain involves moving the domain from one NameBright user's account to another.

How To Push A Domain

To push a domain to another NameBright account you must provide the user's email address and username before the push can be initiated. You cannot push the domain to someone who does not already have an account with NameBright.com.

To initiate a push, follow these steps:

  1. Once you are logged in, navigate to My Transfers.

  2. Select Start Push.

  3. Enter their Username.

  4. Enter their Email Address.

  5. Enter the Domain(s) to Push.

  6. Choose the option to lock your domain after the change has been completed.

  7. Notify the user that the push has been initiated.

  8. The push must be approved by the recipient before they can manage the domain.

Learn More About Pushes

  • You may push a domain name to any account within NameBright without triggering a lock on the domain name.

  • Once a push is started it will expire in 5 days if the receiving user does not log into their account and accept the push from their end.

  • Notify the person that is receiving the push to go to NameBright.com > My Account > My Transfers > Inbound Pushes.

  • Once they accept the push it will immediately be moved from your account to theirs.

  • To check the status of a push, go to My Account > My Transfers > Outbound Pushes.

If the person receiving the push wants to put the domain into a specific category or add privacy protection, they will be given the opportunity when they accept the push — not when you initiate the push.

If the push is not accepted by the "Request Expires On" date, the push will automatically be canceled and the domain will remain in your account. For this reason it is important if you want the push to complete that the recipient of the domain(s) accepts the push in their account within 5 days of the push being initiated.
