Why does my domain have a transfer lock? When a domain is first registered, transferred from one registrar to another, or has its contacts changed, we are required to put a 60-day transfer lock on the domain. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), requires that we place this lock on domains. Unfortunately we cannot remove the lock until the 60-day period is over.

How do I change my auto-renewal settings? To help protect your domains from expiring, set up Auto-Renewal. For instructions on updating Auto-Renew, click here.
How does domain registration work? Domain registration is the process of reserving a unique name and address (domain name) on the internet for a specific period of time. It involves checking the availability of the desired domain name, registering it with a domain registrar, paying a registration fee, and setting up the domain name system (DNS) to associate the domain name with an IP address.
Domain registration allows businesses and individuals to establish an online presence and create a professional image on the internet, making it easier for customers to find and access their websites.
Learn more about domain registration.
Can I register my domain for more than 1 year? The duration for which you can register a domain name depends upon the domain registrar and the specific top-level domain (TLD) extension you choose.
The maximum registration period for a .COM domain name is 10 years. This is the standard registration period for most generic top-level domains (gTLDs) like .ORG, .NET, and .INFO.
Once the registration period expires, the domain owner will need to renew the domain registration to keep it active. NameBright offers auto-renewal options to ensure that domain owners don't miss the renewal deadline and risk losing their domain name.

What happens if my domain expires? If your domain name registration expires, several things can happen, depending on the amount of time that has passed since the domain expired. Please contact us if you have questions.
